Where Was I? (Plus Dodie-Related Animation Drawings)
Hi, you guys! You have probably been wondering why I haven't been updating this blog the past two weekends, besides posting the Dodie Bishop rant last Friday. Was it laziness? Procrastination? An urge for relaxation? Well, yeah, I simply felt like taking a little vacation from exhausting myself to work on it every week. It's not like I don't enjoy posting on it. I was focusing so much on that one thing, which was the Dodie rant, that the act of posting on Ze Blog might put extra exhaustion on me. Sometimes you have that feeling of planning on doing sonething on your to-do list, then push it aside like it's a pile of dirty laundry, promising that you'll handle it soon. Don't you ever have that feeling? I frequently feel that way, yet sometimes I think I hold the mentality of a workaholic. Also, I'd feel this anxiety over what should be done next, what doesn't need to be done right away, and so on.
Now, the point I'm trying to make is that, while I enjoy working on Ze Blog, and this site as a whole, I've decided that it doesn't need to be something that I always have to force myself into giving words for on a specific basis. I'm changing the blog's post times from every weekend to whenever I have the time and patience for it. But don't worry. I'll try not to keep you waiting any longer than every second week. This month, my goal is to try and get my fledgling children's book, The Magic Muffin, ready for editing, printing, and finally published by the spring. March Break is intended to be the week for that. But for now, I'll be able to entertain you this weekend, and the next (if I can, of course). There are other things for me to do, as listed on my agenda; I must go easy and steady with my life, that's all.
Right now, as a little treat, here are some frames from my pencil test fan animation titled Dodie Bishop Gets Her Just Desserts!, where Ginger Foutley's fickle friend finds karma in her hands! I enjoyed making this crude little cartoon.
Since last fall, while I was making the short, I've been thinking about doing a Nicktoons fan crossover comic called Everybody Hates Dodie, where Dodie will be a condscending jerk, and getting bit on the rear all the time. The idea's a combination of my hatred for Dodie and my fascination Coonfoot's own enthusiasm of Nicktoons on Deviantart.
